Social Network Zoology
"Online social networks are not an escape from reality, but rather a microcosm of peoples' larger social worlds and an extension of offline behaviors.”
- “Your Facebook Personality Is The Real You” by Alicia Eler
We, humans, as intelligent creatures, process our social behavior digitally; however, our motivation and desire is still animalized. Social Network Zoology (SNZ) is a collage art project. It reinterprets human behaviors in zoological perspective for participants to see the similarity between animal behavior and human behavior on social networks.
SNZ analyzes an user’s Instagram popularity, social circle and frequency of use in order to reveal their animal identities. Participants can see their face merge with an animal avatar and then read of this animal was chosen for them.
Through the lens of this new zoological theory, users can see how their behavior on social media is unconsciously animalistic. This playful experience will enable users to introspect about the roles they play and their relationships with others.”

In school, I learned how to make things beautiful and express myself. At work, I knew the key is to listen others and make beauty into strategy to touch the user’s heart. I am a hybrid of Design + Technology and I stroll between the culture of Taipei + New York
